Static Prison Season 1.0 is here ⛏️⚡💥

Author: Sam (Founder of Static Studios)

Overview

Static Prison is finally here.

This is a brand new take on Prison built around fast progression, powerful custom enchantments, satisfying mine-clearing abilities, and short, competitive seasons. Whether you want to grind your way up the ranks, min-max your pickaxe, chase seasonal leaderboards, or just blow up half the mine with consumables, Static Prison was designed to make mining feel as fun as possible from the very start.

Prison has always been one of the most important gamemodes in Static Studios history, so bringing it back properly has been a long time coming. Static Prison Season 1.0 keeps the core progression that makes Prison fun, while adding a lot of custom systems that give the gamemode more depth and much more room to grow over time.

A Brief History of Static Prison

Feel free to skip this section.

Static Studios, formerly known as Static Network, started back in 2019 creating Minecraft Bedrock Edition realms with server-style gamemodes for the console community. One of those gamemodes was Prisons, and it quickly became one of our favorites.

In 2021, we launched an early Java Edition version of Static Prisons. It was a smaller project, but it played an important role in helping me improve as a developer and better understand how to build larger systems. That version of Prison eventually came to an end in 2022, but the idea of bringing it back never really went away.

Now, after everything we learned while building newer projects, Static Prison is back with a much stronger foundation. Season 1.0 is only the beginning, and because of the nature of the gamemode, we plan to keep Prison on a quicker update cycle with shorter seasons—generally around 1 to 2 months per season.

Features

This section covers the main features of Static Prison.

Fast-Paced Prison Progression

Static Prison is built around constant progression. Mine blocks, sell what you earn, level up your pickaxe, unlock stronger enchantments, rank up, prestige, and repeat.

From early-game mining to late-game private mines, the goal is to always give you something meaningful to work toward.

Custom Enchantments

Your pickaxe is the center of Prison, and we have completely built progression around custom enchantments.

There are 16 enchantments in Season 1.0, ranging from simple stat boosts to massive proc-based abilities that can wipe out huge sections of the mine.

Some highlights include:

  • Efficiency / Fortune: core progression upgrades for speed and drops
  • Tokenator: find large bursts of tokens
  • Jack Hammer: destroy an entire layer of the mine
  • Explosion: trigger explosive chain reactions
  • Multi-Directional: break large regions instantly
  • Transcend: upgrade nearby blocks into better ones
  • Meteor Strike: call down meteors
  • Black Hole: pull in and destroy nearby blocks
  • Momentum: gain stacking boosts the longer you mine
  • Key Finder & Metal Detector: find crate keys and consumables

As you progress, mining transforms from breaking single blocks into chaining massive effects together.

Mine Bombs, Thunder Storms, and Air Strikes

Static Prison introduces powerful consumables designed to completely change how you clear mines.

  • Mine Bombs: throw them into the mine to create massive explosions
  • Thunder Storms: strike lightning down a full column of the mine
  • Air Strikes: carpet bomb large areas for maximum destruction

All of these come in multiple tiers, scaling in power as you progress.

Backpacks

Backpacks are a core progression system.

There are 10 tiers, each with increasing maximum capacity. You upgrade your backpack’s capacity over time, and once maxed, you can upgrade to the next tier using money and tokens.

This creates a steady progression path instead of simply buying larger storage outright.

Pets

Pets bring a unique twist to Prison gameplay.

Season 1.0 includes three pets:

  • Zombie Pet: spawns baby zombies that mine using your pickaxe (and trigger your enchantments)
  • Snowman Pet: turns nearby blocks into ice, which gives high token rewards
  • Blaze Pet: fires explosive fireballs that help clear the mine

Pets also provide passive boosts such as increased tokens, sell value, enchantment proc rate, or pickaxe XP. You can upgrade pets and eventually unlock multiple upgrade slots.

Milestones

Milestones reward long-term progression across multiple categories:

  • Playtime
  • Blocks Mined
  • Enchantments Activated
  • Prestige

Each milestone level gives rewards, ensuring consistent progress.

Prestige and Private Mines

Prestiging is a major part of long-term progression.

At Prestige 3, you unlock your own private mine. These start small but can be upgraded in both size and block quality.

At higher levels, private mines outperform public mines and become a key part of late-game progression.

Server Events

Server-wide events activate every few hours and last between 3–10 minutes.

Events include:

  • Bombardment: use the most mine bombs
  • Block Bash: mine the most blocks
  • Enchantment Surge: trigger the most enchantments
  • Glowstone Grab: mine the most glowstone (randomly spawns during the event)

These events add short bursts of competition and reward active players.

A 16-level tutorial guides players through the entire gamemode.

You will learn everything from mining and selling to enchanting, using consumables, upgrading backpacks, managing pets, claiming milestones, and prestiging.
